Day 2
Visit today the famous Parliament House, Hungary’s largest building and permanent seat of its parliament, also home of the famous Crown Jewels of Hungary Budapest. Don’t miss the Great Synagogue of Budapest, the biggest one in Europe.

Built in the 19th century, the covered market impresses with its metal columns, high walkways and it’s also the perfect place to shop for Hungarian souvenirs. You will get the chance to visit the Matyas Church and see the Fishermen’s Bastion, built in 1895 in neo-Romanesque style. Have an evening walk in the beautiful Castle District and enter the famous Labyrinth of Buda Castle with only oil lamps to guide you.

Gundel RestaurantHave an elegant dinner in the world-famous Gundel Restaurant. Gundel’s special goose liver products are made following the recipes of Europe Prize winner, Tocque d'Or Chef Kalman Kalla, using rich and tasty Hungarian goose liver with garlic, paprika and onion. The fine bouquet of Tokaji Aszu Wine is a perfect match for the goose liver. Delight yourself with a traditional desert a Gundel palacsinta.

Take a relaxing trip on the banks of the Danube River, north from Budapest. Visit in Szentendre, Hungary’s largest ethnographical museum, the Hungarian Open Air Museum, preserving buildings and evidence of bygone lifestyle from all regions of the country. Continue your trip along the river to the small town of Visegrad, where the famous Vlad Tepes the Impaller (Count Dracula) was imprisoned for 12 years.
The town houses Hungary’s largest ensembles of medieval buildings, the Royal Palace built in the reign of Charles Robert (1301-1342), that was considerably rebuilt and enlarged in the 15th century under King Matthias, to become one of the most imposing Renaissance palaces in all Europe and the Citadel atop the hill rising above Visegrad dating from the mid 13th century. Return to Budapest and visit the Heroes Square and the small version of the Corvinestilor Castle. After a splendid lunch transfer to the airport and depart for home.

Visit the Parliament House the largest building in Hungary. Then visit Saint Stephan Basilica, where you can see the mummified right hand of Saint Stephan, the first monarch of Hungary. Drive along Andrassy Avenue which is on the World Heritage list. At the end of the Andrassy Avenue you will find the Heroes Square with the statues of Hungary’s most important personages along history. Next stop on our list is the Castle District with the imposing Matthias Church, Budapest’s finest and best known Roman Catholic Church, whose fantastic position dominates the skyline. The Fishermen’s Bastion, built in 1895 in neo-Romanesque style, as well as the Royal Palace are symbols of the whole country. Enjoy a relaxing walk on Gellert Hill with its superb panoramic views over the city. Drive to the airport and depart for home.
